Organized by:
CIGR Section I
SUPROMED PRIMA project
MEDWATERICE PRIMA Project
PRECIMED PRIMA Project
Objective
The Conference aims to be a meeting and reflection between farmers, technicians and researchers, within the process of demonstration and transfer of research results to the productive sector under the scenario of decreasing water availability and increasing energy costs. Thus, contributing to the social, economic, and environmental sustainability of water and energy use in agroecosystems located in arid and semi-arid areas to cope with climate change.
Venue: University of Castilla-La Mancha, Campus Universitario, General Services Building, Albacete, Spain.
For more information about the topics, the program, the registration and the submission of the abstract, see the following: https://crea.uclm.es/crea/SUPWASConference

Project full Name: Precision Irrigation Management to Improve Water and Nutrient Use Efficiency in the Mediterranean Region
10.00h-10.15h: Welcome
10.15h-13.15h: PRECIMED platform status
The conference is organised by PRIMA Jointly with EC UfM and the Cyprus Institute. Find more information at the link below: https://wefe-nexus-medconf-2021.eu/
A practical objective of the Conference is to explore the formation of a Community of Practice on how science and practice could come together to address interdependencies in the management of WEFE resources in the Mediterranean region. PRIMA, with its network, will have a key role there.
Registration: https://wefe-nexus-medconf-2021.eu/registration, or to submit posters (https://wefe-nexus-medconf-2021.eu/poster-sessions).
The deadlines for registering and for submitting abstracts are the following:
Also, the PRIMA WEFE Nexus prizes will be awarded during the conference. It is a further opportunity for researchers to disseminate the results of their research. It’s an opportunity to recognise those research teams and practitioners having devised and demonstrated the successful implementation of combined management practices of water, energy, food and ecosystem resources at the local or regional scale in The Mediterranean.
The prize award ceremony is foreseen on the 29th September in the frame of a high-political session.
Several PRIMA projects coordinators will be invited to breakout sessions (https://wefe-nexus-medconf-2021.eu/program) to participate and offer demonstration cases likely to show the economic and socio-ecological benefits of the WEFE Nexus approach.
